Tricorntech Unveils Smart City Air Quality Monitoring Concept at 2019 Smart City Summit & Expo

On March 26, Tricorntech was invited to attend the 2019 Smart City Summit & Expo to showcase its innovative smart city air quality monitoring concept (hereinafter referred to as the Concept). The Concept incorporates advanced detection systems with micro sensors to achieve precise and rapid monitoring of air quality. The system can be widely deployed to strengthen the effectiveness of the smart air quality monitoring network. When air pollution occurs, government agencies will be notified at the first moment. Additional data such as the composition of contaminants and wind direction are also provided in order to identify the pollution source and improve the city’s overall air quality.
In order to detect air pollution, determine its composition, identify the source, and notify related authorities in a timely manner, Tricorntech and Chungwha System Integration used the MiTAP VOC Analyzer as the foundation and installed compact sensors on the city’s smart streetlights. In general, toxic chemicals emitted by traffic-related air pollution mainly include benzene, toluene, and ethylbenzene. When the presence of these chemicals is detected by compact sensors in an area, authorities can rely on MiTAP’s detailed concentration data collected for each compound detected to take immediate and appropriate action.
The Concept is being implemented in Hamaxing, Kaohsiung. The project is currently in its early phase. Once the Concept reaches maturity, it will assist government agencies in resolving air pollution issues.
